We have been hearing renders and leaks about the new Huawei MatePad. Finally, Huawei MatePad tablet has been officially launched in China. This is a lower version than the MatePad Pro 5G that was launched in November 2019.
Huawei MatePad overview
Huawei MatePad has a 10.4″ IPS display with 2,000 x 1,200 pixel resolution. It comes with a metal body design that measures 245.2 x 155 x 7.4 mm in size and weighs 450 grams.
This tablet is powered by octa-core Kirin 810 chipset runs on EMUI 10 with HMS based on Android 10. There is no Google Play Services available in this tablet.
The new tablet comes with M-Pencil stylus support. But the pencil is not included inside the box.
The screen has thin bezels that provide holding areas and a hole-punch design to give room for the selfie camera. There is an 8 MP selfie camera in the front with HDR support.
The rear camera also features an 8 MP sensor with autofocus support. There is also a LED flash for low light imaging.

For connectivity, Huawei MatePad includes Bluetooth v5.0, USB Type-C port, hotspot, GPS, and a dual-band Wi-Fi. This tablet also includes sensors such as a compass, gravity sensor, hall sensor, ambient light sensor, and color temperature sensor.
On the official press release, its focus on the tablet’s use as an educational tool. It is full of learning resources with its own special “focus UI”. For reading text, the tablet also features a special reading mode. It will cuts-out blue light emitted from the screen and simulates a monochrome e-paper like experience.
Huawei MatePad has a 7,250mAh battery with 18W fast charging via Type-C port. It has 64GB and 128GB storage variants that can be expanded via a dedicated microSD card slot up to 512 GB.

Huawei MatePad price and availability
Huawei MatePad comes with the model number BAH3-W09 Wi-Fi variant is available in 4GB + 64GB storage and 6GB + 128GB storage configurations. The 4GB + 64GB model costs CNY 1,899 (roughly Rs. 20,420) and the 6GB + 128GB is priced at CNY 2,199 (roughly Rs. 23,640).
Huawei MatePad comes with the model number BAH3-AL00 LTE + Wi-Fi variant offered in 6GB + 128GB storage model. It costs CNY 2,499 (Rs. 26,870).
According to Huwaei’s list on its official website, this tablet will be available in Fritillary White and Night Ash color options.
Currently, the latest released Huawei MatePad is available only in China. There is no official announcement on international availability.
