Xiaomi launched Redmi Note 9 and Note 9 Pro (Global) during a global online launch event. Among these two phones, Note 9 is a new one where Note 9 Pro is the global version of the Redmi Note 9 Pro Max, launched in India earlier.
Redmi Note 9 overview
Redmi Note 9 has a 6.53-inch IPS full HD+ display having a resolution of 1,080×2,340 pixels. This comes with a standard 60 Hz refresh rate. The display houses a hole-punch containing the selfie camera. Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection is available to protect the display.
Note 9 houses a quad rear camera setup having 48 MP primary camera with f/1.8 aperture, an 8 MP ultrawide camera with f/2.2 aperture, a 2 MP macro camera with f/2.4 aperture and 2 MP depth sensor with f/2.4 aperture. The cameras are aligned in a square-shaped module very similar to the other phones in the Redmi Note 9 series. For selfies, this phone has a 13 MP primary sensor with f/2.3 aperture on the front.
The fingerprint reader is placed on the backside of the phone just below the camera array. This comes with the same rounded design and aligned relative to camera module on the upper middle portion of the phone. Redmi Note 9 comes with the same design like other phones in this series. It measures 162.3 x 77.2 x 8.9 mm and weighs 199 grams.

For connectivity this includes include USB Type-C port, 3.5mm audio jack, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS, A-GPS, NFC (select markets), infrared (IR) blaster, and more.
This smartphone is powered by the MediaTek Helio G85 octa-core processor and runs on MIUI 11 based on Android 10.
Redmi Note 9 is backed by a massive 5,020 mAh battery that also supports charging up to 18 W. Xiaomi has provided a 22.5W fast charger inside the box.
Redmi Note 9 is available in 2 variants. The 3GB RAM + 64GB storage option priced at $199 (roughly Rs. 15,100) and the 4GB RAM + 128GB storage model costs $249 (roughly Rs. 18,900).
This smartphone will be available in Forest Green, Midnight Grey, and Polar White color options. It will go on sale starting mid-May globally.
