Samsung and SK Telecom of South Korea jointly launched quantum encryption technology equipped Galaxy A Quantum. According to the company, this is the world’s smallest quantum random number generator (QRNG) chipset.
As this chipset comes with this smartphone users can get better data security on the device. This smart chipset is developed by SK Telecom’s Switzerland-based subsidiary ID Quantique.

Samsung Galaxy A has a 6.5-inch Infinity-O Super AMOLED display having a resolution of 1080×2400 pixels. This comes with a standard 60 Hz refresh rate. The display features a hole-punch providing space for the selfie camera. Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection is available to protect the display.
Galaxy A Quantum houses a quad rear camera setup having 64 MP primary camera with f/1.8 aperture, a 12 MP ultrawide camera with f/2.2 aperture, a 5 MP macro camera with f/2.4 aperture and 5 MP depth sensor with f/2.2 aperture. The cameras are aligned in an L-shaped design. For selfies, this phone has a 32 MP primary sensor with an f/2.2 aperture on the front.
You would get an under-display fingerprint sensor in this phone. It comes with a whole new back panel design with two color combinations. It measures 162.5 x 75.5 x 8.1 mm and weighs 185 grams.
This smartphone is powered by the Exynos 980 QRNG security chipset and runs on One UI 2.0 based on Android 10.
This is also the world’s first 5G smartphone equipped with a QRNG chipset.
According to SK Telecom QRNG chipset provides better security in authentication and payments on this smartphone by generating unpredictable and patternless random numbers. The chipset also has a CMOS image sensor. This detects photons emitted by an LED flashlight to generate unpredictable random numbers.

Samsung Galaxy A Quantum 8GB RAM + 128GB only storage variant price is set at KRW 640,000 (roughly Rs. 39,000). Pre-orders of the phone will be started on May 15 and May 21. It will go on sale in South Korea on May 22. There is no official announcement on global availability.
