Xiaomi Launched Mi True Wireless Earphones 2 and Mi Box 4K in India

Xiaomi launched two new accessories Mi True Wireless Earphones 2 and Mi Box 4K in India. In an online launch event, the company also launched the Mi 10 5G smartphone.

Mi True Wireless Earphones 2

The earphones have an AirPods style earpiece with 14.2mm drivers and outer-ear fit. The Mi True Wireless Earphones 2 supports the latest technology in the Bluetooth segment i.e Bluetooth 5.0, with the SBC, LHDC, and AAC Bluetooth codecs.

You also get environmental surrounding noise cancellation on regular voice calls with the earphones. Xiaomi has not exactly conformed about the level adjustments and how much isolation you get from it.

The earphones have touch-sensitive controls so that you can control the music playback and accesses the voice assistant on your smartphone. Mi True Wireless Earphones 2 supports Google Assistant, Siri, and Alexa. These earphones are optimized for fast pairing and battery levels indication on devices running on the upcoming MIUI 12.

Each of these earphones equipped with two microphones. One is specifically designed to minimize background noise during calls. Like the Apple AirPods and this earphone also feature proximity sensors. When you take either of the earphones out of your ears it will automatically be paused.  

These earphones have 30mAh batteries in the earphones and an additional 250mAh battery in the charging case. Individual earbuds weigh just about 4g. When both the earphones are inside the case it weighs 50g in total.

Mi True Wireless Earphones 2 will have 4 hours of battery life while the case can empower an additional 10 hours of battery life.

Mi True Wireless Earphones 2 costs Rs. 4,499. But a limited period offer can give you the same for at Rs. 3,999. The limited period offer will run May 12-May 17.

It will go on sale starting May 12 via Mi.com, Amazon, Mi Home stores. It will available on Mi partner stores soon.

Mi Box 4K

The Mi Box 4K is an Android streaming device. It runs on Android TV Pie and can convert any traditional TV into a smart TV. This streaming box seems a rebranded version of Mi Box S that was launched a few years ago.

This device can be connected to a TV using an included HDMI cable. As the name suggests, it supports up to 4K video transmission via HDMI. If your TV supports HDR 10 then you can easily watch content made with that format from streaming platforms such as Netflix and Amazon Prime Video.

Although Mi TV lineup runs on the PatchWall interface, the Mi Box 4K features the stock Android TV interface.

In terms of connectivity, Mi Box 4K has a 3.5mm jack for audio output, HDMI 2.0b port, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1 for audio transmission and USB 2.0 port to play your offline files.

It is equipped with built-in Chromecast Ultra allowing users to cast content at up to 4K resolution.

Mi Box 4K is powered by a quad-core Amlogic S905X processor 2GB RAM and 8GB of internal storage.

This device comes with a remote controller. The remote has Netflix and Prime Video hotkeys, power button, volume up and down, and few other buttons. It also comes with a microphone for taking Google Assistant commands.

Mi Box 4K will bring the competition to its rival Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K in India.
