Xiaomi has officially launched Mi 10 Youth Edition, the latest 5G smartphone in the local Chinese market. It is a toned-down model of the Mi 10 that was launched in February. This is the company’s first phone that comes with a periscope shooter.
Mi 10 Youth Edition 5G overview
Mi 10 Youth Edition 5G has a 6.57-inch super AMOLED display having a resolution of 1,080×2,400 pixels. This comes with a panel supports 180Hz touch sampling rate.
The display houses a water-drop style notch cut out containing the selfie camera. Its display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5. This phone also has an under-display fingerprint sensor for passwordless authentication.
Mi 10 Youth Edition 5G houses a quad rear camera setup. There is a 48-megapixel main camera with f/1.9 aperture, an 8-megapixel periscope telephoto lens. It supports 5x optical zoom, 10x hybrid zoom, and 50x periscope zoom.
The third camera has an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens with a 120-degree field of view and f/2.2 aperture. The fourth one is a 2 MP macro shooter with 2-10 cm focusing distance.
There is a 16MP camera on the front equipped inside the waterdrop notch.
Mi 10 Youth Edition 5G comes with whole new color options and fancy paint jobs. It measures 164 x 74.8 x 7.9 mm and weighs 192 grams. It also features a dual-mode suspension liquid cooling system.
This smartphone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G chipset and runs on MIUI 11 based on Android 10. Although Xiaomi has released the latest MIUI 12 version already, this phone doesn’t come with the latest one. This might be available in the software update.
This phone is backed by a 4160 mAh battery that also supports charging up to 22.5 W. This also comes with Quick Charge 4+ support.

Xiaomi Mi 10 Youth Edition 5G is available in 4 variants. The 6GB + 64GB model starts at CNY 2,099 (roughly Rs. 22,500), the 6GB + 128GB model priced at CNY 2,299 (roughly Rs. 24,700), the 8GB + 128GB model listed at CNY 2,499 (roughly Rs. 26,900), and the top-end 8GB + 256GB model costs CNY 2,799 (roughly Rs. 30,100).
The Mi 10 Youth Edition 5G will be available in Blue Berry, Black Chocolate Storm, Green Tea, Orange Storm, and Pink Peach color options.
Pre-order has already begun at the Xiaomi’s official website with an upfront deposit of CNY100. The first flash sale of this smartphone will be started on May 4. The company has not revealed anything about global availability.
